The museum of " the Lights of Moscow " is located in the Armenian lane. The building of the museum represents a rare monument of Russian architecture - chambers built of white stone in the end of XVII century. In December, 1980 the exhibition, devoted to the 250th anniversary of street illumination of Moscow has opened on ground floor of the building. The museum of " the Lights of Moscow " has been formed on its basis after 4 years.

The museum acquaints its visitors with the history of street illumination of Moscow nowadays. Different light sources are presented in exposition: oil lamps, modern electric lanterns, ancient - oil, kerosene, gas lanterns, as well as a plenty of photos with types of the capital.   Duration: 1 hour.

MICHAEL BULGAKOV'S MOSCOW

(the other world and a reality)

≠≠≠Four-hour bus excursion with visiting of " the Bad Apartment ".

Michael Bulgakov is the most mystical and at the same time most documentary writer of the twentieth century.

All in his work has the prototypes, the basis; and, if something happens in a life it involuntarily appears on pages of his works and if something happens in his works it is realized in the mystical way. And that's why we can walk not only across Michael Bulgakov's Moscow almost with documentary accuracy, but also in the real world of his characters.

Together with you we shall appear near the theatre of the Variety show in which under the legend and today the gold coins disappear. We shall visit that " bad apartment " (in Bol'shaya Sadovaya street) in which the famous gang has lodged by its arrival to Moscow and where Bulgakov has lead some years.

We shall go to the Patriarshie ponds (the real Master and Margarita walked around them) and we learn, why this place was chosen by Bulgakov for Voland's first occurrence in Moscow.

We shall meet some prototypes of Margarita's private residence on our way also, we shall come to the house of Maxim Gorkiy, the chairman of the Union of writers of the USSR. We shall appear near the last terrestrial shelter of the writer, who has become Michael Bulgakov's literary maestro,according to his words. His name is N.V. Gogol.

We shall find ourselves near a small actual restaurant of Griboedov and MASSOLIT, as well as at the famous cellar of the Master where Margarita came to in order to see her beloved.

Neither in Paris, nor in London or in Vein it has not been constructed so many buildings in a modernist style, as in Moscow, on a boundary of 19-20 centuries.

Moscow modern, though developed in the river-bed of West Europe style, but, nevertheless, had the brightly expressed features which were related to national traditions and  the genius decisions of the Russian architects..

Houses in modern style, erected in a short space of time of its popularity, can be met on a boulevard ring, in the side-streets of center of Moscow, in the quarters of Kitaj - gorod and in such elite streets as Povarskaya and Prechistenka. Profitable houses and mansions, ranged in this style, make considerable part of architecture of historical center of city until now. Russian modern has enormous number of admirers nowadays, and we are right to be proud of masterpieces that are standing straight on the palms of the Moscow streets.

You will learn of history and features of «Russian modern», and also about  the legendary houses-representatives of this style from an excursion. In their number: a hotel of «Metropol'», building of MKHAT, in Kamergerskiy Lane, own house of F. Shekhtel' in Ermolaevskiy  side-street, house of publishing of I.D. Sytin  in Tverskaya street, mansions of Derozhinskaya and  Morozova (house of receptions of Foreign Ministry in Spiridonovka street), Belyaeva's mansion (now there is an embassy of Peru), Yakunchikova and Gutkheyl's mansions in Prechistenskaya Lane, house of Mindovskiy in Povarskaya street and many-many other.

Ivan The Terrible is one of the most disputable and enigmatic figures of history of Moscow. He was talked and argued about from age to age; his acts had been explained and tried to justify or accuse, though to raise the curtain of secret above his personality and fate.

We shall walk along and ride through those streets where events of Ivan The Terrible's life passed at this excursion ( Kolomenskoe, Sofiyskaya quay, Oprichniy court yard, Ivanovskiy monastery, the Old English house). We shall address not only to Ivan The Terrible's's life, but  we shall find out also:

what streets in Moscow did feature between «zemshina land» and « the grounds of oprichnina » pass on;

what houses did the richest feasts pass, military victories were celebrated in;

Where did  Ivan The Terrible decide to arrange « the Second Jerusalem »;

how did the center of Moscow look like during those distant times;

what did usual people think of and how did they speak about their tsar.

You will visit church of metropolitan Phillip, learn history of construction of the Temple of Bazil The Blessed and you'll  learn who in a reality was Bazil The Blessed also during excursion.

Three-hour bus excursion across Moscow

Gothic style dominated in Later Middle Ages in the architecture of temples, cathedrals, churches and monasteries,  showing the human's tendency to the Sky with all its forms. During Revival (an epoch of mind) it was completely replaced with the Renaissance.

But centuries have passed, and people worned out of correctness and rationalism have turned the looks to Gothic art once again, being seduced with its sensuality, singularity and beauty. The Gothic style has the huge number of admirers nowadays, and Moscow have the right to be proud of the masterpieces created in its streets in this style.

The Moscow Gothic architecture, though also developed in a vein of the West-European style, but had the strongly pronounced features connected with national traditions of Russian culture. You can meet houses in the Gothic style, more similar to castles on a boulevard ring, in the side-streets of the center of Moscow, in the quarters of Kitaj-gorod, and in elite Moscow streets.

You'll learn of history and the features of legendary monuments of Moscow architecture which were constructed in this style or have incarnated any of its separate features from excursion: towers of Kremlin, buildings of an imperial residence in Tsaritsino, Peter and Paul's Church in Starogradskiy Lane, the Cathedral of Immaculate conception of Virgin Maria in Bol'shaya Gruzinskaya street, The central department store (TSUM), the Central house of architectors in Granatnyi Lane, Morozov's house in Vozdvizhenka street, Gothic private residences and profitable houses in area of Arbat and in area of Pokrovka. THE SINGING BUS

Concert and three excursions in one!

«The singing bus» is a surprising travel to one of literary corners of Moscow suburbs. Interesting museums, wonderful guides and alive music during a way.

The musical program includes - songs under an acoustic guitar: Russian and gipsy romances, songs from verses of Russian poets, songs from favourite films and, at Your will, songs of the Soviet stage.

SHAKHMATOVO – TARAKANOVO

Shakhmatovo is Alexander Blok's entail property. Tarakanovo is the place where a famous church is situated in which the poet got married with his Beautiful Lady - L. Mendeleeva in 1903.

Expanded excursion to the great poet's manor, completely restored and located in one the most picturesque natural places of Moscow suburbs, among the woods which have stretched on kilometers, hills and fields. Excursion to a museum in Tarakanovo village is waiting for participants of « the Singing bus » also.

There is an exhibition presented, devoted to family of Mendeleev, and an exhibition, devoted to history of the village. There is a monument established in honour of A.Blok and L.Mendeleeva not far away. The church and Shakhmatovo itselves has recently become a favourite place for celebrating Weddings.

MELIKHOVO

Hundred with extra years back A. P. Chekhov wrote his legendary play "Chaika" here.

Travel will begin from the subway station Chekhovskaya. There are two houses nearby to it  where Chekhov lived up to the trip to manor Melikhovo and after return from it.

You'll visit the manor where Chekhov's family lived for long years in Melikhovo; the wing which was constructed by the writer in 1894 for accommodation of visitors and has become the place of his literary work, a garden, a kitchen garden, a pond "Aquarium" where Chekhov liked to sit with a fishing tackle, a bulk play slide, a wing-kitchen with subject matters of country use of XIX century.

A small play " Country stories " in performance of professional actors by A. P. Chekhov's works  will be presented to your attention after excursion to the museum complex.

You'll visit two more wonderful places of this edge after walk in Melikhovo: Saint David's Sacred source in small village Talej and  David's desert.
